Apologies: Audrey Duncan, Cllr George Kay, Cllr Peter George, Cllr Susan Leslie, Community Police Officers.
Minutes of Meeting
1. Welcome and introductions
Tom welcomed everyone to the meeting and acknowledge that Audrey may be absent from the Committee whilst she convalesces.
2. Minutes of previous meeting.
The previous minutes were proposed by TL and seconded by KC.
3. Community Policing update The Community Police Officers passed on their Crime Report and confirmed there had been no crimes reported over the last few weeks. Additional mobile (marked and unmarked) patrols are now being made around the village.
4. Planning applications and issues The only significant thing to report is an amendment to the planning application for the Clentrie wind turbines. The change relates to the size of the turbines and location of the access road. Full details under planning application - 15/00507/EIA
5. Village issues
5.1 Floral Enhancement.
We agreed that most, if not all of the tubs in the village would be replaced using the Four Winds Grant which was recently secured by TL. TL has priced tubs from trade sources (25 year guarantees) as well as plants from Bridgend Garden Centre & Hillend Garden Centre. We would also like to support local business if we can. Action Point: TL will speak to Maureen to establish whether she has the capacity to supply some of the plants.
Action Point: The ACC will hold an interim meeting soon to discuss how we proceed with this year’s planting
6. Aocb
6.1 Community Council website KC has set up an online repository for all Auchtertool Community Council documentation. Action Point: KC will set up a draft community website or similar. Draft to be ready by 11 May.
6.2 Millennium Bench It was agreed the “Millennium bench” now needs replaced, having served the village well over the last 15 years. We agreed a maximum budget of £250.
Action Point: TL will look into this.
6.3 Awareness of the new Auchtertool Community Council Once our online presence is established, minutes will be available online but in the interim they will be posted on the Village Hall Noticeboard. Raising the awareness of the new Auchtertool Community Council will be done in the first instance by newsletter. Action Point: TL will post minutes at the Village Hall. Action Point: TL & MA will draft a newsletter by 27/4 Continued/
6.4 TL asked whether a speed survey had been carried out since the introduction of 20mph limit as it was felt that speed was still excessive.
Update: Speed survey data has been supplied suggesting average speeds have dropped but the speed sensor was located at the narrowest point in the village next to the school where drivers naturally slow down. The wider and faster sections remain of great concern – this being the downhill section of road at Newbiggin and the 2 other entrances to the village with no speed cushions. Action Point: MA to raise this again with Cllr Leslie.
