After a few of the residents spotted BT engineers around the village, we did a little investigating. It looks like Superfast broadband cables are now in place in the village and we're just waiting on the box being upgraded before we can start ordering the new service.

Don't forget it's the Auchtertool Summer Fayre this Saturday (13 June), starting at 11am in Auchtertool Primary School.
There will be lots of family fun including:
Plus loads more. All funds go to Auchtertool Primary School. Hope to see you there and bring your friends. For those of you who weren't able to attend the recent Children's Internet Safety police presentation at Auchtertool Primary School, another session is taking place at Burntisland Primary at 7pm on Wednesday 17 June.
Please get in touch if you would like to attend. We've also asked out Community Officer to run another session in Auchtertool aimed at adult safety online. We'll let you know more about this event nearer the time. Hopefully you've noticed the new flower boxes that are starting to appear around the village.
We've used a grant from the Four Winds Community Trust to replace some of our older or damaged flower boxes. We're also fixing and re-treating the boxes that don't need completely replaced. The new flowers will be planted over the next couple of weeks but Fife Council don't maintain these boxes for us, so if you're able to help maintain and water the boxes near you please get in touch. A few residents have raised concerns about the increased number of door-to-door tradesmen in the village over the last couple of weeks.
Residents have been offered a number of services including steam cleaning of drives, paving etc. Some have been concerned that the sellers can be quite pushy. We've raised this with the local police who have reminded residents to ask for appropriate qualifications and be wary of unmarked vans. If they are concerned, they should record the vehicle registration and make the police aware. |
